# Global Business Model Canvas

> The Global Business Model Canvas (GBMC) is a one-page business model framework created by Martial Bombrault, Academic Director at IRIIG in Lyon, France. It reads a business model across three dimensions at once (economic, societal and environmental) and balances economic, societal and environmental costs against revenues and contributions to society and the environment. "Global" means whole, not worldwide: it is not a tool for international expansion.

- Builds on the Business Model Canvas by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur.
- Differs from the Triple Layered Business Model Canvas (Joyce & Paquin, 2016), which uses three separate canvases: the GBMC keeps all three dimensions on a single sheet.
- 13 blocks. Three of them (Key Partners & Ecosystems, Value Propositions, Beneficiaries) are each filled in on three layers: economic, societal, environmental.
- Customer Segments become Beneficiaries; Key Partners become Key Partners & Ecosystems; Key Activities become Key Processes.
- The lower half pairs Economic Costs with Revenue Streams, Societal & Social Costs with Contributions to Society, and Environmental Costs with Environmental Contributions.
